Youssef Daoudi

Daoudi (1969) turned to comics, his childhood love, after having studied film and after a successful career in advertising, where he gained a lot of experience in combining images with words. This turn took place shortly after he had moved, in 2000, from Morocco to France, one of the biggest European comics markets next to Belgium. When still in Morocco, he had published some illustrations in local publications under the pseudonym Yoz. His first success came with ‘La Trilogie noire’, an adaptation of novels by Léo Malet, created in collaboration with scriptwriter Philippe Bonifay.
