Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri

Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri studied painting and architecture at the Fine Art Academy in Rome and began his career as a painter in 1966. In 1975 he shifted his focus to comics when he started to work for Italian comic magazine Lanciostory. A big fan of the American Old West, Serpieri co-created the Western series ‘L’Histoire du Far-West’ (“The Story of the West”) with writer Raffaele Ambrosio, which was published in the magazines Lanciostory and Scorpio. He is best known for his work on ‘Druuna’, an erotic science fiction series. He published the first work of the ‘Druuna’ saga, ‘Morbus Gravis’, in 1985. The series is noteworthy for featuring realistic and explicit content including graphic violence and sex.
